The University of Texas at Austin,

UT Austin is the first university from the United States to co-host La Feria Internacional del Libro de las Universitarias y los Universitarios 2023 (FILUNI), which attracted over 42,000 participants from more than 10 countries. UT led and participated in more than 50 roundtable discussions, research symposia, live podcast recordings, film screenings, poetry readings, musical performances, and exhibits.

Art Direction for Booth Design

Working with a construction vendor in Mexico City, I lead the review and design of UT Austin's booth by providing an initial collection of  elements from the brand toolkit and examples of pieces previously done by the vendor that would serve as a central pillar of the book fair. It was important to keep the area feeling open while also creating a space that encouraged conversation and acted as a meeting place for the traveling participants and attendees. To highlight some of the campus elements that are strong icons for the University, I included a large illustration of the UT tower on top of a limestone facade that disguised a storage closet for inventory. In addition and with the help of my design team, I had an illustration of campus printed as a cling and attached to the glass walls that gave a translucent effect so light would come through but attendees sitting in the small conversation area had an element of privacy.

Digital Display Slides

Informational slides with session times, screening events, performances, and UT Austin Facts that played on a loop on digital displays around the booth for each day of FILUNI.

Interactive Digital Report

Winner of 2024 District IV CASE Award.

The digital report is a comprehensive showcase of stories, images, and video from UT Austin's co-host presence at FILUNI in 2023. The design features continuation of design elements and graphics that were created for the promotional campaign.
